Our Story
Adventure With Purpose
At Exceptional Safaries, we are passionate about high-adventure travel combined with meaningful global outreach.
Our name reflects our mission: to deliver extraordinary safari and mountain experiences while creating lasting, positive impact in the communities we serve.
We design personalized journeys for:
Solo travelers
Couples and families
Corporate teams and leadership groups
Educational programs
Medical outreach teams
Religious missions
Sports development initiatives
Whether you are seeking an unforgettable wildlife safari, a guided ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, or a deeply immersive cultural experience, we create customized itineraries tailored to your group’s goals and vision.
A portion of our company income is reinvested into Tanzanian charitable initiatives on behalf of our travelers — supporting education, community development, and sustainable local projects.
Foundations & 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organizations
For U.S.-based foundations and registered non-profit organizations, we offer a unique model that combines adventure travel with fundraising impact.
Through customized group safaris and Kilimanjaro climbs, organizations can:
Strengthen community and donor relationships
Create meaningful shared experiences
Generate substantial financial support for their cause
Depending on group size and trip frequency, these initiatives can raise thousands — and in some cases tens of thousands — of dollars for participating organizations.
While in Tanzania, groups also engage in carefully curated cultural immersion experiences designed to foster understanding, connection, and long-term perspective.
Responsible & Ethical Tourism
Our operations are guided by responsible tourism principles that prioritize:
Ethical employment and fair local partnerships
Environmental sustainability
Cultural preservation and respect
Direct, measurable community impact
We believe in traveling with purpose — where adventure meets responsibility, and where every visitor leaves Tanzania knowing their journey made a difference.
Roger Kaimukilwa represents a proud legacy in Tanzanian tourism, with a family history spanning over five decades in the industry. His father served as a National Park safari guide for 35 years before establishing a family-owned mountain tour company — laying the groundwork for Roger’s lifelong connection to conservation and guiding.
Roger began his career more than 15 years ago on Mount Kilimanjaro as a porter and mountain guide, eventually achieving over 50 successful summit ascents. His progression from mountain guide to professional safari guide and ultimately tour owner/operator reflects both his expertise and deep understanding of Tanzania’s landscapes and wildlife.
Today, Roger oversees all safari and mountain operations, ensuring exceptional service standards, safety, and authentic experiences for every guest. He also leads the coordination of charitable initiatives, reinforcing the company’s commitment to responsible tourism and community development.

Lynn Foulke brings decades of executive leadership experience, having served in a top C-level role at a major U.S. real estate company for nearly 30 years. Her strong background in strategic management, operations, and client service forms the foundation of her work in Tanzania’s tourism sector.
Her journey with Tanzania began in 2011 through travel and charitable initiatives. Upon reaching the crater rim of Mount Kilimanjaro for the first time, she described it as “the most amazing experience” of her life — a defining moment that inspired her long-term commitment to the country and its people.
Since then, Lynn has helped introduce thousands of travelers to Tanzania’s extraordinary landscapes and culture, personally accompanying hundreds on life-changing journeys. She has successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro (19,341 ft) eight times and climbed Mount Meru (14,968 ft), even completing both mountains consecutively — a testament to her dedication and passion.
Beyond tourism, Lynn remains deeply committed to community empowerment and charitable initiatives that uplift underserved communities throughout Tanzania.
